Enhancing Creativity in Your Child by Blogging

What is creativity? Can it be learnt? Is it a special talent that you are born with? Do only some people have it or is it present in everyone? We can think of creativity as the ability to make something unexpected out of something ordinary.
It can be expressed through art: Drawing a new and unexpected perspective of an ordinary scene; through words: Writing a story with an unusual ending; or through crafts: Using common materials to make extraordinary objects.
Young children are almost always creative. Every experience is new to them. As a result, they find it easy to come up with an uncommon use for ordinary objects or to interpret a normal occurrence in a new way.

Their imaginations enable them to explore new ways of thinking. A cardboard box becomes a doll-house, a boat, a car or a portal to another world. Creativity is a precious attribute, but sadly, it often diminishes as the child gets older, especially once they start school.
In school, your child learns that only correct answers matter.

The problem is that the correct answers are usually answers which come from text books or from memorizing what the teacher tells them.
Answers that they come up with on their own are usually not good enough.
The result of this is a natural reduction of original thought and a stifling of your child's inborn curiosity.

You can counter that by starting a blog together with your child. Blogging can enhance your child's creativity in many ways. Page Design In designing the pages of your blog, your child will be able to express his individuality in his choice of colors, graphics, backgrounds and fonts.
He can experiment freely with no fear of disappointing his teachers, family or friends.

No need to worry about the right way and the wrong way to present his ideas.
He will think in terms of what works and what doesn't.

In addition, he will feel good about himself when people give him positive feedback about the appearance of his blog. Individual Expression Young children love drawing, coloring and making things.

Imagine how enthusiastic and pleased they will be to see their hard work prominently displayed in their very own blog.

Drawings can be scanned and displayed.
Craftwork can be photographed and inserted into the blog.
As your child grows, it is fascinating to see how her work improves and flourishes over time. Having her work displayed for all to see is strong encouragement for her to work harder.

Increasing Self-Confidence When other people - especially strangers who don't even know him - admire his work, your child will feel a boost of confidence that is invaluable.
He will know that his work has worth; that there are others who appreciate his original ideas.

This will lead him to explore his concepts further, thus increasing his creativity.
Connecting To Others Being creative can also apply to relationships, to how well we communicate with others. As your child explores his ideas through his blog, other bloggers who share the same interests may comment on his blog. He may visit their blogs to see how they handle the topic. In this way, he can form new friendships with all kinds of people: People from other countries, people of different ages or kids with different perspectives of the same interest.

His communication skills will improve effortlessly.
Creativity should be cherished and carefully nurtured.
There is no better way than to do this than through a blog.
