Handling Teen Stress is Simple

Stress is the response of the body and the mind towards various changes in the physical environment of a person.

Though a human being undergoes changes throughout his life, adolescence is one period that witnesses most of the changes. During adolescence, an individual goes through numerous types of changes including physical, emotional, social and academic.
Teenage is the period that is accompanied by maximum stress levels. During puberty, there are various factors which lead to tension and stress. A few common stress factors are expectations from family and teachers.

Sometimes, self expectation could make it hard for you to choose an appropriate career for yourself.
Some other factors that could lead to stress are poor economic condition, estranged parents, disability, troubled relationships or lack of self esteem.

Stress if not handled effectively by teenagers can cause various health related issues.
Some of the common health related problems that can arise as a result of stress include anxiousness, inability to concentrate, sleep and eat properly, depression and several others.

If a person suffering from stress is dealing with any of these symptoms, one must look for professional help immediately. Many teenagers often tend to become violent and also withdraw socially, owing to stress.

The inability to cope up with stress can also cause some teenagers to commit suicide. Thus, proper stress management is very important during teenage. Time management is one of the best ways to manage teenage stress. Proper time management would help you have enough time for various activities like your studies, sports, friends or other house hold chores.
Dividing your overall tasks into smaller tasks that can be easily completed is another way to combat stress. When organizing your tasks, only concentrate on activities that you have control over.
Pondering on things that are beyond your control will only drain your energy and make you stressed.
Eating a healthy diet coupled with exercise can also help deal with stress.

You should also reduce your caffeine intake.

Alcohol and drugs attribute to stress so take care you stay away from them. Certain situations can be the cause of a stress attack in certain teenagers.

It becomes important to confront such situations in order to deal with stress. Practice situations that you fear such as public speaking and the like. You should also learn to be more expressive.
If you find it difficult to express your emotions to people, you can express your emotions through writing or music.
Do not indulge in negative thoughts- replace the negative self-talk about yourself by positive or neutral thoughts. "My life has become worse forever" can get replaced by "I am in the dumps right now, but things are not going to be the same forever if I seek help".
Accepting yourself the way you are is an example of the key rules to control stress in puberty.

Most teenagers suffer from an inferiority complicated and become the victims of stress.
Getting over this complicated and self acceptance will help you deal with stress. However, if regular methods of anxiety control fail to help then to find guidance from a health is the best choice available.

Remember, to be not influenced by what others say or feel about you. Being yourself is the only way to gain confidence and fight with teenage stress.
