Having Fun Outdoors With Your Children

In this day and age all it can take is a rainy day or a blistering hot sun to keep us inside.

The real challenge comes however when children are involved.
As a mother of two I can tell you first hand that when it comes to children, outdoor activities are the best way to turn a miserable day into a fun one.
Fortunately, there are many things that can be done outdoors with children.

I will cover the following areas in order to help inform you: the beach, the park and the playground.

The beach is an awesome sight for children to see, the endless stretch of water seems to expand their imagination to the point of excitement.

While the sand is takes the backyard sand pit to the extreme side of fun.

Being able to make sand castles just to knock it down again is all great fun.

All together the beach has within it an infinite and countless number of activities for children.

The biggest benefit to you is that all that restricts these activities is the child's mind. The park is another alternate universe for our children to find and endless stream of activities that are fun.
Being back to nature with trees and fields of grass can meld a good day into a great one.
Fun activities can stem from sports games to hide and seek. To encourage even more activity out of my children I find bringing the family dog to add to the experience. Playing fetch or chase can really alter the dynamic of the excitement involved when children play at the park. Most of all the fun they have when their homely pet finally drops the ball and waits for it to be thrown again. It cannot bring any more joy then to watch how much fun the park is.

The playground is where urban environment meets the artistic creativity of a child's mind.

With spiderlike structures, fantasy going urban vessels or dizzying apparatus all lead to one word to be felt by all. That is the word fun! Let us not forget the classic playground activities of the swing set or the slippery dip. These activities may be as old as the concept of fun itself but if they worked for children one hundred years ago they must work today. There are many fun activities to be had with children outdoors, the real fun comes from understanding that it is the imagination and expression that occurs that allow us all to have our best times.
